Wedding Events on Lady Bird Lake

Nestled on the shores of serene Lady Bird Lake at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Capital Cruises offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere for families and celebrants of all ages. Beautiful sunsets and an idyllic setting create a unique backdrop for rehearsal dinners, receptions, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and even wedding ceremonies. Capital Cruises offers customized event planning, from unique locations to catering to live entertainment. Groups of up to 100 can be accommodated on our flagship vessel, the Pride & Joy II. Groups of 21 to 50 passengers fit perfectly on our mid-sized boat, the Nighthawk. Groups under 20 persons can be accommodated on one of our smaller vessels.

Catering is available through Capital Cruises via the Four-Diamond Hyatt Regency Hotel, or you can bring your own food and beverages on board. Weddings

Our versatility and flexibility enable us to customize any event to your wants and needs. Highlights of your event could include the world-renowned Congress Avenue Bats, the downtown Austin skyline, the Zilker Park-Barton Springs corridor, and the gorgeous limestone bluffs west of Mopac.

Our larger vessels can handle groups of 21 to 100 passengers and can be set up to your liking.  Decorations are allowed, as long as they are environmentally conscious!

Wedding Receptions and Rehearsal Dinners

Bring your own food or enjoy menus from the Hyatt Regency Austin, Austin’s finest Four-Diamond hotel. Menus from the Hyatt include their famous fajitas, BBQ, a deli buffet, and various pasta options.

This was a really wonderful trip. Capital Cruises leaves from the river by the downtown Marriott in Austin on a “Bat Boat Tour”. Millions of bats live underneath one of the river bridges. At twilight, they all fly out, almost blackening the sky. We were invited on the cruise as a part of a wedding event. The host rented an entire boat and there were probably 50 people on board. There are both upper and lower decks – the lower deck is enclosed (glass) and air-conditioned. Above, is open seating where you can either stand or watch. The cruise lasts a couple of hours during which you ride up and down the river just until twilight. Then, the bats start to come out. What a spectacle The bats come out over a period of about 15 minutes or so. Throughout, the sky blackens and the Austin skyline lights up. This is a must do for anyone visiting Austin. What a great adventure.

We had our rehearsal dinner on the Cruise. At one point on the upper deck, we had the sunset behind us, the full moon and Austin in front of us, and Elvis singing in the background… It couldn’t have been a better scene! Fajitas were great! It was real easy for 75 people to get around. They let us decorate how we wanted. And the margaritas were awesome! Absolutely zero complaints.
